FEMA Disaster Recovery Center aims to assist those impacted by tornado

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at the Russell County Courthouse is set up to assist those who were impacted by the tornado earlier this month.

Danny Bernardy with FEMA spoke to WJRS News and said FEMA is on-site to assist anybody with damages from the tornado.

Bernardy also cautioned anyone who received a denial from FEMA to make sure to read the letter carefully. Sometimes one minor change can make a difference.

The disaster recovery center is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Russell County Courthouse.

Bernardy advises anyone visiting the center to bring their ID, a utility bill or some other proof of address,  and direct deposit information.
