The Russell County Middle School Laker Baseball team defeated Whitley County last night by a score of 11-1.
Rylan Long drove in a team-high 4 runs and Keenan Stille finished with a team-high 2 hits and 2 runs batted in.
Aaron McGowan picked up the win on the mound, pitching 4 1/3 innings and giving up just 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 4.
The middle school softball team was on the road at Green County last night, falling by a score of 5-4.
Allie Bailey had 2 hits, driving in 2 runs for Russell County. Kerigan Aaron and Molly Clark each had a hit and RBI as well.
The middle school Lakers return to action Thursday on the road at Casey County.
The Lady Lakers host Taylor County tonight at 5:30.
