Local gas prices have seen an increase over the last week.
According to AAA, the average price of gas comes in at $2.79 in Russell County. That’s up almost 10 cents from last week.
Prices remain lower than state average, which comes in at almost $2.90.
Prices in Russell County are also lower than most neighboring counties. Pulaski County is among the highest in the area at $2.94. Prices in other neighboring counties are pretty close to Russell County, coming in 2-6 cents higher. Adair County is about 3 cents lower.
Prices are down almost 70 cents from this time last year.
