The Laker Baseball team went on the road and defeated Cumberland County last night by a score of 15-6.
Carter Stapp, Owen Loy, and Mayes Gosser each finished with a team-high 3 hits. Gosser and Loy each drove in 2 runs, and Ayden McGowan drove in a team-high 3 runs.
Blaine Melton picked up the win on the mound, pitching 3 innings and giving up just 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 3 batters. McGowan earned the save entering in relief, pitching 3 1/3 innings and giving up just 1 hit and striking out 4.
The Lakers and Panthers will face off again tonight at David Rexroat Field. That game gets underway at 5:30.
