Today is the last day to enter the Russell County Bicentennial Pioneer Poetry and Prose contest.

The contest is organized by the Russell County Public Library. Library Director Lindsey Westerfield has more details on the contest.

Hard-copy entries can be submitted at the library today or online at russellcountylibrary.com/rc200

Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category are sponsored by Community Trust Bank.

Betty discusses the strong turnout, what tests are included in the $20 screening, the importance of early detection for conditions such as infections, anemia, and prostate cancer, and how participants can quickly access their results. She also explains the convenience of the screening process and thanks the Russell County School System and hospital staff for helping make the event a success.
