A pedestrian was injured earlier this afternoon when they were struck by a vehicle on Highway 80 in Russell Springs.
Russell Springs Police say the accident occurred at around 12:30 this afternoon. They say 24-year-old Haley Jo Hatfield was operating a 2019 Nissan Altima when she struck a pedestrian, identified as 75-year-old Chang Popplewell of Russell Springs.
According to reports, Hatfield was turning east onto Highway 80 from the connector road between Lakeway Chiropractic and The Springs Motel. Hatfield told police she saw Chang standing on the shoulder, and when she turned onto the highway, Popplewell had begun walking in the road.
Popplewell was transported by EMS to Russell County Hospital for minor injuries.
