KSP investigating murder in Wayne County

Kentucky State Police is investigating a murder that occurred in Wayne County over the weekend.

60-year-old Norman E. McGuire of Monticello was taken into custody yesterday morning by state police and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 46-year-old Berry Rainer Rose III.

Rose was reportedly found outside his home on Cart Bell Ridge Road in the Parnell community with a gunshot wound early Sunday morning. Rose was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.

McGuire was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 11.
