Campbellsville man charged with vehicular homicide in fatal weekend wreck

A Campbellsville man is facing charges of vehicular homicide following a wreck that left another Campbellsville man dead over the weekend.

Kentucky State Police say 78-year-old Howard Poling is charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, and other traffic charges.

State Police say Poling was traveling east on Handley Avenue in Campbellsville Sunday afternoon when he tried to cross to another street and struck a moped operated by 55-year-old Johnny Dickens.

Dickens was pronounced dead at the scene by the Taylor County Coroner.

The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police.
