A South Carolina man was arrested on multiple charges yesterday afternoon.
The Russell County Sheriff’s Office said 27-year-old James S. Faller III was arrested and charged with theft by failure to make required disposition of property, tampering with a prison monitoring device, escape second degree, fleeing or evading police first degree, and multiple other warrants from Russell and Jefferson counties.
Sheriff Derek Polson said a tip came in yesterday that Faller was at a residence off Highway 1729. When deputies arrived, they were given permission to search the area and located Faller hiding under some clothes in a shed. Polston said Faller attempted to flee from deputies, but was apprehended and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center just before 3 p.m. yesterday.
Deputy Chris Tweedy was the arresting officer. He was assisted on scene by deputies Bill Greer and Devin Blakey.
