Progress is being made on the Food is Medicine program Russell County Hospital is working on in conjunction with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

A kickoff meeting was held last month and since then, hospital CEO Scott Thompson said it looks like the program may receive some grant funding that could help it move faster than expected.

Thompson spoke to WJRS News about current plans for the program.

Thompson said there’s been a strong interest from community partners to work with the hospital on this project.
