Man arrested in Adair County after allegedly striking girlfriend with vehicle

A Columbia man was arrested early Saturday morning in Adair County after he allegedly struck his girlfriend with his vehicle.

Kentucky State Police say 50-year-old Tyron VanArsdale is facing charges of assault second degree, wanton endangerment first degree, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Troopers were called out just before 5:30 Saturday morning to a residence on Kelleyville Road to reports of an assault following a domestic issue. Reports are VanArsdale and his girlfriend were involved in a dispute, and when VanArsdale got into his car to leave, he struck his girlfriend with the car and left the property.

The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.

VanArsdale was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
