An Arizona man was arrested yesterday following a collision that occurred on Bernard Ridge near Stephens Pipe and Steel yesterday afternoon at around 4 p.m.
The Russell County Sheriff’s Office said 19-year-old Jose Antonio Gomez Santiz was operating a 2013 Chevy Equinox when he disregarded a stop sign and struck a 2020 Nissan Rogue operated by 27-year-old Ashley Durham of Russell Springs.
Santiz was arrested at the scene and charged with no operators license, failure to maintain insurance, disregarding a stop sign, and careless driving.
Both individuals involved were treated on scene by Russell County EMS. Deputy Chris Tweedy is leading the investigation for the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.
