The Jamestown Fire Department was called out yesterday morning to a fire at a residence on Chatty Mann Road near Half Acre Road.
Jamestown Fire Chief Jeff Landers said fire crews were called out at around 11:30 yesterday morning to the home owned by Mataya Stamper and found heavy fire conditions coming from one side of the home. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the main bedroom and hallway of the home; however, there was extensive smoke and heat damage throughout.
Nine firefighters were on scene for approximately two hours. Jamestown stations 1 and 2 were assisted on scene by South Kentucky RECC, Russell County Dispatch, Jamestown Water Department, and the American Red Cross.
No injuries were reported from the fire.
