State Education Commissioner Robbie Fletcher recently announced the state education department is predicting a funding shortfall of around $40 million in SEEK funds.
SEEK is the state funding mechanism for Kentucky’s public schools.
WJRS News spoke to Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford about the projected shortfall and what that looks like for Russell County Schools.
Ford said the reports about the shortfall do not impact the school district’s plans to provide raises to faculty and staff in the next budget.
