The Fishing Creek Bridge on Highway 80 is now closed.
The closure is set to last 75 days, according to the state transportation cabinet.
The closure comes as work began earlier this month on a nearly $7 million project to replace the bridge deck.
The bridge reportedly serves more than 5,000 vehicles per day.
