At least one person airlifted following Tuesday evening wreck

At least one person was airlifted following a wreck on Highway 127 near Owenstown Road Tuesday evening.

According to the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, three vehicles were involved in the collision.

WJRS News is told a Hyundai car operated by Brody Mundy was attempting to make a left turn near Owenstown Road when the car was struck in the rear by a GMC Acadia operated by Anthony Frost. The collision pushed Mundy’s vehicle into the opposite lane, where it was struck by a Chevy truck operated by Thomas Foster Jr.

Mundy was airlifted following the collision, and Foster was transported from the scene by Russell County EMS. Frost reportedly received minor injuries from the collision.

Deputy Nick Barber worked the scene for the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. He was assisted on scene by the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Russell County EMS, and other first responders.
