A pair of hikers discovered a body near Exit 49 on Interstate 75 near London yesterday and state investigators believe the remains are that of the man who fired shots at passing vehicles on the interstate nearly two weeks ago.
State Police say the remains found near the interstate yesterday evening are those of Joseph Couch, the suspect in the shootings that occurred back on Sept. 7 that left several people injured.
State Police, along with local and federal authorities, have been on a manhunt for Couch over the last two weeks, drawing statewide and national interest.
The coroner’s office has not yet positively identified the remains, but authorities say there were articles found near the remains that lead them to believe the remains are those of Couch.
