Russell County Public Library recognized at Imagination Library event

The Russell County Public Library was recognized at an Imagination Library event in Lexington yesterday where Dolly Parton was in attendance.

A video produced by Hutch Digital featured Russell County families and was played at the ceremony, which was attended by libraries and other organizations across the commonwealth involved with promoting and funding Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Russell County was also spotlighted as a local program partner, noting the contribution of the Woodland Farms Foundation that makes the program possible in Russell County, along with other partners.

Russell County has the highest enrollment percentage statewide, with more than 80 percent of eligible children enrolled in the program that sends a book to them each month free of charge.

In Russell County, that equates to 900 children.
