The Russell County High School Golf teams had strong showings in weekend tournaments.
The Lakers were in action at the Wayne County Invitational yesterday, where they shot their lowest score of the season, finishing the day with a team score of 303.
Noah McMillin led Russell County, shooting one-under-par with a 71 on the day. Daylon Blevins and Gabe Browning each shot a 77, Kole Rixon shot a 78, and Josiah Dudgeon shot a 92.
The Lady Lakers were in action at a tournament in LaRue County on Saturday. Carly Shearer shot a personal-best 85 and Karly Stapp shot a personal-best 92. Catherine Wright shot a 98, and Addison Hopper shot a personal-best 105 for a team score of 380.
The Lady Lakers finished 8th in the Kentucky Invitational Tournament at Lakewood Country Club on the 17th. Carly Shearer shot an 87, followed by Carleen Meyers with a 92, Catherine Wright with a 95, and Karly Stapp and Addison Hopper each with a 110.
