RCHS athletics will have new coaches this school year

As the 2024-2025 school year is set to begin next week, school officials from across the Russell County School District are preparing for a new school year.

WJRS News spoke with Russell County High School Athletics Director Michael Carpenter about some notable changes in athletics coming with this school year.

Carpenter noted some new coaches across the school district, which includes new RCHS Football Coach Steven French and a mixture of new and old faces on the football staff.

Russell County Volleyball also had a change in leadership, but the new coaches are no strangers to the Lady Laker program.
