Two new electric vehicle charging stations were unveiled at the Russell County Tourism Office Monday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The charging stations are the first fast-charging stations to be implemented by KU & LG&E in their service area.
The charging stations are the result of a partnership between the tourism office and KU &LG&E.
Daniel Lowery, a spokesperson for KU, said Russell County was a great location for the charging stations because of Lake Cumberland being nearby, but also the proximity to other cities.
Tourism Director Danielle Wilson said she’s excited to have the charging stations at the tourism office.
Free charging at these stations is available until Oct. 18.
