Local prices are hovering just under $3 per gallon.
Last year around Labor Day Weekend, local prices were around $3.50.
Prices in Russell County remain on par with most neighboring counties, although prices in Clinton, Wayne, and Pulaski counties range from 8 cents to 17 cents higher.
Russell County also comes in under the state average, according to AAA, which is at $3.10.
