Bicentennial Celebration Plans Underway

Plans are now underway to celebrate the 200^th birthday of Russell County next year.    County Judge-Executive Randy Marcum announced a few months his plans to form a bicentennial committee to plan for activities and events in recognition of the county’s 200^th milestone which will officially occur December 14, 2025.    Marcum, along with Susan Melton, an employee in the County Judge’s office, met with several individuals yesterday at the Russell County Public Library to begin discussions for the year long celebration.   Marcum noted that he hopes some celebrations and recognition of Russell County’s rich history can begin in January
