A Pulaski County ambulance was involved in a fatal wreck yesterday morning.
According to Kentucky State Police, the collision occurred on U.S. 27 in Garrard County near the Garrard/Jessamine County line when a 2021 Kenworth Semi-truck operated by 44-year-old Cory Dunn of Lexington, made a left-handed turn onto Lexington Road in front of a Somerset-Pulaski County Ambulance, operated by 26-year-old Chastian McWhorter of Albany.
The collision resulted in the death of McWhorter, along with a patient in the ambulance, identified as 75-year-old Robert Caudill of Nancy.
Dunn, as well as a passenger in the ambulance, identified as 23-year-old Bailey Haynes of Somerset, were taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to state police.
The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 11.
