Sidewalk work beginning in Jamestown ; First market of the season is Saturday

At last night’s Jamestown City Council meeting, the council voted to accept a bid for sidewalk work around the Jamestown Square and in other areas of the city.

The council also voted to approve an amendment to the budget for approximately $20,000 for the sidewalk improvements.

Mayor Regena Hinton said the city is contracting with the same company working on the sidewalks in front of the courthouse that the county paid for and believes it will make the sidewalks safer and look better.

Hinton also said the city is excited to host the first Jamestown Market of the season on Saturday and hopes to see it continue to grow this year.
