Sheriff’s Office releases March report

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office has released its monthly activity report for the month of March.

Last month, the sheriff’s office responded to 343 calls for service, not including office calls and walk-ins.

The sheriff’s office made 23 arrests, performed 20 traffic stops, and worked 22 traffic accidents including two with injuries.

The sheriff’s office made 4 mental health transports, served 65 court papers, and drove more than 3,600 court security miles.

In total, the sheriff’s office performed 61 vehicle inspections, issued 25 concealed carry permits and collected more than $290,000 in property taxes.
