Shearer’s double gives Lakers walk-off win over Paducah-Tilghman

The Laker Baseball team picked up a win over Paducah-Tilghman on Saturday in walk-off fashion, with Jack Shearer hitting a double scoring the winning run in the 7th inning as the Lakers came out on top 5-4.

Shearer’s double scored Owen Loy from first base to give the Lakers the victory, their third in a row.

Ayden McGowan led Russell County in hits with 3 on the day, while Shearer and Trace Stringer each finished with 2. Mayes Gosser drove in a team-high two runs.

Austin Bartrug got the start, pitching 3 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits and striking out six. Adam Walters picked up the win on the mound, pitching 3 1/3 innings in relief, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and striking out a pair of batters.

The Lakers are back in action tomorrow, going on the road to Albany for a district matchup with the Clinton County Bulldogs.
