A Monticello man was killed following a fatal accident on West Highway 92 Saturday night, and a couple was arrested for reportedly burglarizing his home just hours after the accident.
Reports are that 59-year-old Lawrence Graham of Monticello died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident that occurred on West Highway 92 at around 9 p.m. local time on Saturday.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested two individuals for burglarizing a home belonging to Graham about four hours after the wreck.
The two individuals arrested were identified as Timmy L. and Lena C. Troxell of Monticello. They were both charged with second-degree burglary.
According to the sheriff’s office, Timmy and Lena were seen at the accident site earlier.
The two claimed that they were there retrieving items for a baby, according to law enforcement, but when police searched their vehicle, they didn’t find any items belonging to a baby.
