The Laker Baseball team picked up another shutout win over the Metcalfe County Hornets on the road last night by a score of 10-0.
Senior Austin Bartrug had a big day on the mound, pitching five innings and giving up just 2 hits and striking out 10 of 21 batters he faced. Ayden McGowan entered in the 6th inning, striking out 2 of 3 batters to secure the shutout victory.
At the plate, McGowan led the way with 3 hits, driving in a pair of runs. Jack Shearer also added a pair of hits, including a solo home run in the first inning. Trace Stringer finished with 2 hits as well, and scored 3 runs.
The JV team also picked up a shutout victory over Metcalfe County by a score of 9-0.
The Lakers are scheduled to host 4th Region foe South Warren at home tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
