Laker Baseball defeats Highlands in Myrtle Beach

The Laker Baseball team picked up a win yesterday afternoon playing in Myrtle Beach.

The Lakers defeated Highlands High School by a score of 11-8.

Mayes Gosser and Owen Loy led the way for Russell County, each finishing with a team-high three hits and driving in two runs each.

Carter Stapp, Ayden McGowan, Jack Shearer, and Evan Hutchison each drove in a run for the Lakers.

Trace Stringer picked up the win on the mound for Russell County, pitching 6 1/3 innings and giving up 6 runs on 6 hits and striking out 8 batters.

The Lakers are scheduled to play Wildwood from New Jersey this evening as part of the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.
