Lady Lakers pick up win in spring break event

The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team picked up a win yesterday in the Florida Softball Beach Bash.

The Lady Lakers defeated the Lewis County Lady Panthers out of Tennessee by a score of 9-1.

Rylen McGowan led the Russell County offense with a pair of hits and 3 RBI, including a two-run home run in the second inning, her fourth of the season.

Audrie Roy and Brylie Hardwick each finished with two hits on the day as well, and Camdin Cooper drove in a pair of runs as well for the Lady Lakers. Addie Davis also drove in a run for Russell County.

Hardwick picked up the win pitching for the Lady Lakers, going 7 innings and giving up 1 run (unearned) on 3 hits and striking out 8 batters.

The Lady Lakers are back in action again today in Florida, taking on Edmonson County at 3 this afternoon.
