Lady Lakers drop district matchup to Cumberland County

The Lady Lakers had a tough outing in a district matchup against Cumberland County at home last night, falling by a score of 8-0.

The Lady Lakers struggled to get things going offensively, finishing with 6 hits on the night compared to 9 for Cumberland County.

Nevaeh Duncan, Jaylee Roy, Miley Rankins, Avery Hart, Addie Davis, and Camdin Cooper each finished with a hit for the Lady Lakers.

Addison Hart pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits, 8 runs (4 earned), and struck out 4.

The Lady Lakers will look to get back on track this evening, when they host the Taylor County Lady Cardinals.

This is the third matchup of the season between the Lady Lakers and Lady Cardinals.

Taylor County won the first matchup on March 19 by a score of 10-6. Russell County took the second matchup in the 2A sectional tournament earlier this month by a score of 7-6.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. We’ll have pregame on Laker Country 104.9 beginning at around 4:45.
