The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team picked up a victory in a Kentucky 2A Section 4 matchup over Taylor County yesterday.
The Lady Lakers came out on top by a score of 7-6.
The Lady Lakers entered the 7th inning leading 7-2, but withstood a rally by the Lady Cardinals to hold on for the victory.
Addy Abrell, Avery Hart, and Nevaeh Duncan each finished with a pair of hits in the win, and Hart drove in a team-high three runs while Duncan drove in two.
Addison Hart picked up the win pitching, going 6 2/3 innings and giving up 7 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits, while striking out 3.
The Lady Lakers are back in action tomorrow, taking on the host LaRue County in the Section 4 championship beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT.
