Lady Laker Softball picks up win in first game of Florida trip

The Lady Laker Softball team is competing in Florida for spring break, and the Lady Lakers picked up a win in their first game yesterday.

The Lady Lakers won 11-3 over Middlesboro High School.

Audrie Roy led Russell County in hits with 3 on the day, while Camdin Cooper, Addie Davis, and Rylen McGowan each finished with 2 hits.

McGowan, Cooper, and Avery Hart each drove in a pair of runs for Russell County, while Davis, Roy, and Nevaeh Duncan each drove in one run.

Addison Hart had a big performance in the pitcher’s circle, striking out 12 of 28 batters she faced.

The Lady Lakers are scheduled to be in action tomorrow against Bath County.
