Former Russell Springs Fire Chief and Russell County Emergency Management Director H.M. Bottom will be recognized at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial this weekend.
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) will host the 43rd National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend on Saturday and Sunday in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Bottom, who passed away in October 2021, is one of several fallen firefighters from Kentucky that will be honored. You can read his full biography and contribute to his online memorial wall here.
A candlelight ceremony will take place Saturday evening with a memorial service scheduled for Sunday morning.
