Lady Laker Softball drops first game of the season

The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team dropped its first game of the season Friday night, falling on the road at Barren County by a score of 12-2.

The Trojanettes jumped ahead early, scoring 6 runs in the second inning, and finished strong, scoring 4 more in the 5th inning to secure the victory.

The two runs for the Lady Lakers came from a two-run home run by Rylen McGowan in the 5th inning, her first of the season.

The Lady Lakers will look to bounce back when they go on the road tomorrow for a matchup with the Taylor County Lady Cardinals.

That game is set to get underway at 5 p.m. CT.
