A Somerset Community College student and Russell County native will be taking time during the upcoming spring break to donate a kidney to a stranger.
Cherish Strunk, age 25, is a Russell County native and is pursuing a degree at Somerset Community College to become a surgical technologist.
Strunk is donating a kidney to a man named Danny Fitch, who lives in Johnson County. Strunk had never met the man before the process began last month, but they had a mutual friend.
According to Somerset Community College, Strunk is on track to graduate in May.
