A Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured in a car accident Friday evening.
According to reports, Deputy Travis Bell was taken by EMS to Wayne County Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident, where he was treated and later released.
The accident reportedly occurred at the intersection of North Main Street and Homestead Lane in Monticello when 79-year-old Johnnie Brumley attempted to turn left onto Homestead Lane when he crashed into Bell’s cruiser.
Brumley was not injured in the collision.
