A Tennessee man, who previously lived in Adair County, has been indicted on charges that he allegedly raped an underage female.
Columbia Police served an indictment warrant on 27-year-old Jonathan Tyler Berryman, who was already lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail after being arrested back in August on charges of sexual crimes against a minor.
Police say a woman, who is now an adult, came forward saying Berryman had an inappropriate relationship with her in 2017 when she was 13 years old. After talking with the woman, an investigation began and the findings were presented to a grand jury in Adair County.
The grand jury indicted Berryman on charges of rape second degree, rape third degree, sodomy third degree, and unlawful transaction with a minor first degree.
Columbia Police are investigating the case.
