County Clerk Offices across the state will temporarily pause in-person and online motor services beginning in early January.
The reason for the pause is a migration to a new database system and the change will cause a suspension of services starting Jan. 1 and could last up to 10 business days or more.
The services affected will include vehicle and boat registration renewals, vehicle and boat titles and transfers, license plate issuances as well as issuing of disabled parking permits.
Russell County Clerk Patti Glover is advising people to be aware of these upcoming changes and take care of those items of business before the beginning of the new year.
