Last week, an announcement was made that Russell County was part of a broadband expansion program involving the Center for Rural Development.
WJRS News has learned that the broadband expansion work will take place in the northeastern part of the county near the Irvins Store area.
The company that will be providing service in the area is Broadlinc, a company based out of Owenton.
According to the company’s profile, they serve several counties in the state including neighboring Wayne County.
