The filing window for the 2024 elections is open, and one of the offices up for election is Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 57th Judicial Circuit, which includes Russell and Wayne counties.
Last week, the incumbent Matthew Leveridge filed for re-election.
Leveridge has served as Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 57th Circuit since 2007.
The term for a Commonwealth’s Attorney in Kentucky is six years.
As of now, he is the only candidate to file for the race.
