Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London has released more details about an officer-involved shooting in Somerset last month.
According to state police, officers with the Somerset Police Department responded to a domestic call on Emerald Court just before midnight on Friday, Oct. 27 when they encountered 51-year-old Dallas Brandon Cain.
According to a press release, officers were interviewing one of the individuals involved when Cain emerged from the house with a handgun. Cain reportedly raised the gun at officers, at which point the officers shot Cain who was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
State Police say five Somerset Police officers were involved in the incident and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
Officers involved, according to Kentucky State Police, were:
Sergeant Stephen Langdon, 49-year-old, 19-years with SPD
Officer Chandler Gover, 26-years-old, 3-years with SPD Officer Taylor Cundiff, 29-years-old, 3-years with SPD Officer Theodore Wax, 25-years-old, 1-year with SPD Officer Jacob Loudermilk, 22-years-old, 1-year with SPD
