KSP investigating officer-involved shooting after police cruiser stolen in Greensburg

Kentucky State Police is investigating an officer-involved shooting after a police cruiser was stolen in Greensburg Sunday night.

According to Kentucky State Police Post 15, the shooting occurred at around 7:15 Sunday night on Creason Lane near the intersection with Highway 68.

According to reports, officers arrested a man, identified as Jason Marta of Greensburg, and while the officer was attending to Marta following an altercation, a woman identified as 30-year-old Alisha Posey got into the driver’s side of the police cruiser and accelerated toward the officer.

The officer fired an agency weapon at the car, but Posey was able to escape with Marta in the backseat.

The police cruiser was later located unoccupied, and Posey and Marta were located and arrested without incident Monday morning.

State police have not identified the name of the officer involved. KSP Post 15 is handling the investigation.
