Jamestown man cited following Friday morning wreck

A Jamestown man received multiple citations following a two-vehicle wreck Friday morning on Highway 127.

The wreck occurred Friday morning just before 6:15 near the intersection of Highway 127 and Progress Drive.

Reports are 28-year-old Michael Thomas was operating a 1998 Dodge Ram truck and was stopped in a turning lane waiting to turn onto Progress Drive when he was hit in the rear by a 2016 Chevy Equinox operated by 19-year-old Diego Hernandez of Jamestown.

After colliding with Thomas’ vehicle, Hernandez slid off the roadway and hit a sign in the parking lot of the Valero gas station.

Police say Hernandez was cited for not having a license, no insurance, and negligence in an accident.

The accident was investigated by Russell Springs Police.
