The Halloween Havoc event recently held at the Lake Cumberland Dragway brought in thousands of visitors to Russell County, but the event also helped raise some funds for local schools.
At this week’s fiscal court meeting, event organizer Quinn Shireman was on hand with Tourism Director Danielle Wilson to present checks to representatives from each school.
Each school’s PTO was presented with a $1,000 check which was a share of the revenue gained from the gate admission of the event.
Shireman told the court that they hope to have more events at the dragway in the future.
