Bethany House, a domestic abuse shelter in neighboring Pulaski County that serves the Lake Cumberland region, received $35 thousand in funding yesterday.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear made the announcement as part of $2.2 million in funding aimed at addressing domestic violence. The funds come from the federal Violence Against Women Act grant program.
Bethany House will receive $35,506 from the grant.
Part of the announcement also included the Beshear administration working with the Council of State Governments to launch the council’s largest statewide domestic violence data project to compile data used to make policy decisions about domestic violence.
