Two injured in collision near Five Star gas station

Two people were injured in a two-car collision near Five Star gas station Sunday evening.

According to Russell Springs Police, the collision occurred just after 6 p.m. near the entrance to the gas station.

It’s unclear exactly what caused the collision, but 62-year-old Daniel Baer was operating a 2014 Ford F150 and was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle for injuries sustained in the collision.

17-year-old Gavin Robertson was operating the other vehicle and was taken by Russell County EMS to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A passenger in Robertson’s vehicle, 28-year-old Jonathan Thomas, was reportedly uninjured in the collision.

Russell Springs Police Officer Brenton Llane was assisted on scene by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Russell County EMS, and the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
