The City of Russell Springs held the first reading of its tax rate ordinance at last week’s city council meeting.
The city is waiting for some feedback from the Kentucky Department for Local Government about what that tax rate will be exactly, but Mayor Eddie Thomas told council members the rate will either remain the same or be lower.
The council will likely hold a special-called meeting this week to give final approval to the tax ordinance.
