The Russell County Lady Laker Volleyball team claimed back-to-back district championships last night at home, defeating Clinton County 3-0.
The Lady Lakers came out strong, taking the first set 25-17 and then took the second set 25-18.
The Lady Lakers finished strong, closing out the third set 25-12 to secure the championship on their home court.
Lady Laker seniors Briley Murray and Avery Hart were named to the All-District regular season team, along with sophomore Ella Pierce.
Pierce, Murray, and junior Jaylee Roy were named to the All-District Tournament team.
The Lady Lakers now wait for the draw to determine their first round regional opponent. The Lady Lakers will face off against Franklin-Simpson, Allen County-Scottsville, or the 14th district runner-up, which will either be Greenwood or Bowling Green.
